  I recently received an email from Ramon Perez endorsing the idea of open primaries. While I absolutely support RCV, open primaries are a terrible idea. As a Libertarian Party member, I want my LP candidate to be libertarian. I certainly don’t want Republicans and Democrats picking my candidate. That’s like having Hindus choose the Pope! The LP selects candidates at a convention paid for by its members. Why should the taxpayers fund primaries for private organizations? Better to abolish taxpayer funded primaries altogether.
