Making History In Sarasota With Ranked Choice Voting

Did you know Sarasota passed Ranked Choice Voting in 2007 but hasn't used it yet? Come learn about it and help us get it implemented!

Join us to enjoy good conversation with friends and neighbors, learn everything you need to know about Ranked Choice Voting from expert speakers, and share your ideas about how we can advance Ranked Choice Voting locally, statewide, and nationally.

Voters deserve a greater voice in our elections. Recently dubbed the “one reform to save America” by columnist David Brooks, Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) gives voters more voice, and might even help us fix our troubled political system.

In 2016, Maine became the first state in US history to enact RCV statewide. A few weeks ago, voters in NYC -- the largest city in America -- enacted Ranked Choice Voting with a whopping 74% support.

Ranked Choice Voting is on the move -- having been implemented within 20 states so far -- so let’s get together to discuss how to advance RCV in our community.

We will be meeting at the Selby Library, downtown Sarasota, in the Jack J Geldbart Auditorium
